My own history with news media

Senora recalls the time during the Vietnam as her “protest years”. Her two older brothers fought in it so she would read the papers to get information but she never really believed what most papers had to say about the war she prides herself as being a “non-conformists never accepting the

things told to her she would look it up (back then they had to go to a library). She spoke out against the war and the imprisonment of Angela Davis. She thought back to a time were she was in protest with student and got gassed by the police. “Its scary to think about a time like that but, I’m sure no news paper reported that.”

The news can shape people in may ways. It gives you ideas and different views of the world. Hearing the history of these great women it inspired me to learn more dig deep when I hear stories and to be a better reporter.
